The EuroBBQ Premium charcoal is made from a wild and invasive mimosa plant, called Dichrostachys Cinerea. The deforestation, that is taking place in Cuba, is therefore consistent with environmental considerations and contributes to the protection of the natural biosphere (Cuba).

CABI (Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International, www.cabi.org) has classified the Dichrostachys cinerea (Marabu), as a fast growing tree, that has become an undesirable weed and particularly a problem in areas where there has been overgrazing.

The charcoal produced, using Marabu, is characterized by a good ignition and a very long-lasting (4-5 hours) smoke-free ember. In addition it produces a strong but stable heat (up to 400 degrees Celsius) and furthermore releases a pleasant Grill aroma. Last but not least the griller does not have to worry for any unwanted byproducts, because with a high carbon content concentration (80-90%), there is a minimum residual ash in the amount of 2%.
